This file concerns Saiyid Ali bin Faisal [Sayyid ‘Alī bin Fayṣal Āl Bū Sa‘īd], uncle of the Sultan of Muscat and Oman [Sa‘īd bin Taymūr Āl Bū Sa‘īd]. It specifically relates to Ali bin Faisal's admission to a Government of India mental hospital at Yeravda (also spelled Yaravda) in Poona [Pune], India. Folios 1-31 of the file cover arrangements for Saiyid Ali bin Faisal's admission to the hospital on 7 March 1942. The remainder of the file mainly concerns the payment of monthly maintenance charges for Ali bin Faisal's treatment, including the salary of his personal attendant.
