This file concerns members of the ruling family of Muscat. Most of the file relates to the financial affairs of Dhiyab bin Fahad [Dhiyab bin Fahad bin Turkī Āl Bū Sa‘īd], a cousin of the Sultan of Muscat and Oman [Sa‘īd bin Taymūr Āl Bū Sa‘īd]. The correspondence begins with a request from Dhiyab bin Fahad for his allowance to be sent to occupied Paris, where he is residing. Also covered in the correspondence are the following related matters: the possibility of Dhiyab bin Fahad leaving occupied France in order to receive payment of his allowance, following the British Government's refusal to make payments in an enemy-occupied country; the British Government's decision to waive the restrictions on remittances to enemy-occupied territories so that Dhiyab bin Fahad can receive his allowance in Paris; the death of Dhiyab bin Fahad's mother in Zanzibar, and the administration of her estate; the death of Dhiyab bin Fahad, at Bobigny Hospital, in Paris, on 30 January 1945; details of debts incurred by Dhiyab bin Fahad.
