- Title:
- Agdistis
- Scope & Content:
- Partly typewritten, partly autograph research notes and poetry drafts relating to Agdistis who was an androgynous deity in Roman, Greek and Anatolian mythology. Material was described by Hughes in a letter to Emory University as being '1 box file of drafts and outlines of pieces based on the myth of Agdistis', which he would retain when they purchased his archive. It was written for a limited edition book with drawings by Australian artist, Arthur Boyd. However the 'scheme collapsed' but Hughes retained the material as he hoped to create something from it (information can be found in Add MS 88918/144/1). This material is undated and the date range given is an approximation.
