- The volume contains copies of enclosures to despatches from the Government of India Secret Department to the East India Company Secret Committee relating to political and military affairs principally in Durrani [Durrānī] and Barakzai [Bārakzāy] Afghanistan, as well as the Punjab under Sikh rule, and British-administered Sinde [Sindh] and Baluchistan [Balochistan]. The volume contains material relating to preparations for the First Anglo-Afghan War (July 1839-October 1842). The volume comprises two items:
