This volume consists of Political and Secret Letters from the Government of India’s Foreign Department to the Secretary of State for India, dating from May-July 1877, usually followed by enclosures. The enclosures mostly consist of copies of correspondence, and the items sometimes include abstracts of contents. The date the Letters were received by the India Office and answered is usually recorded.
