IOR/L/PS/7/14

This volume consists of Political and Secret Letters from the Government of India’s Foreign Department to the Secretary of State for India, dating from May-July 1877, usually followed by enclosures. The enclosures mostly consist of copies of correspondence, and the items sometimes include abstracts of contents. The date the Letters were received by the India Office and answered is usually recorded.

Translation of a document forwarded by Capt G C Napier, on special duty at Teheran, having reference to atrocities alleged to have been committed by the Russians in the country of the Turkomans after the Khivan campaign; the original document bears the seals of the leading Khans of the Akhal Tekke tribe. 16 Jul 1877
