- The main contents of the volume are exchanges of letters about government expenditure on building maintenance and repairs to the British Consulate and Post Office at Basrah [Basra] in what is referred to as Turkish Arabia. The correspondence is mainly between British officials at the Foreign Office, India Office, Treasury and Office of Works in London and Government of India officials at the Foreign Department in Calcutta.
