The volume comprises telegrams, despatches, correspondence, memoranda, and notes, relating to measures to support the Arab revolt (1916-18)against the Ottoman Turks.
The file contains:
- correspondence between the Political Resident, Aden (Brigadier-General William Crawford Walton) and Idrīsī Imām of ʻAsīr about a rebellion against the Ottoman Turks
- supply of munitions to the Idrisi
- proposed subsidy to the Grand Sherif of Mecca, Ḥusayn bin ‘Alī al-Hāshimī and measures relating to the opening of trade and postal communication with the Hijaz
- further discussion surrounding the decision of the War Committee of the Committee of Imperial Defence as to measures to be taken by HM Government to support the Arab rebellion against the Turks
