The volume consists of letters, telegrams, and memoranda relating to the British-backed revolt of the Sherif of Mecca against Turkish rule during the course of the First World War (1914-1918).
The papers cover the British response to the situation, including the discussion over the military and logistical measures to support the Sherif of Mecca and the impact of the conflict on Muslim opinion around the world.
The volume consists of part 3 (IOR/L/PS/10/5991) and part 4 (IOR/L/PS/10/599/2) of the subject German War: Arab Revolt.
Each part includes a divider which gives the subject and part numbers, the year the subject file was opened, the subject heading, and a list of correspondence references contained in that part by year. This is placed at the back of the correspondence.
