The volume consists of three parts:
- Part 1 contains correspondence relating to the salaries of HM consular and diplomatic officers, mainly those employed in Persia, but also those in Muscat, Bahrain, and Sharjah.
- Part 2 contains correspondence mainly relating to financial concessions for consular officers and Legation servants in Persia [Iran].
- Part 3 mostly consists of correspondence regarding the payment of dollar exchange compensation allowance for Government employees at Bahrain and Kuwait, and for postal staff at Dubai, Gwadur and Bahrain.
Each part includes a divider which gives the subject and part numbers, the year the subject file was opened, the subject heading, and a list of correspondence references contained in that part by year. This is placed at the back of the correspondence.
