The volume contains parts 17 and 18 of the subject 'Iraq Nejd Relations'.
Part 17 (folios 5-40, IOR/L/PS/10/1248/1, 'Iraq-Nejd Relations: Southern Desert of Iraq') concerns the administration of the Southern Desert of Iraq, and the situation on the border between Iraq and the kingdom of Hejaz and Nejd.
Part 18 (folios 42-101, IOR/L/PS/10/1248/2, 'Iraq-Nejd Relations: Meeting between Ibn Saud & King Faisal. Incidence of cost of "Patrick Stewart". Appreciation of services of Commander') concerns the conveyance of Ibn Saud, King of Hejaz and Nejd, to a meeting with King Faisal of Iraq in February 1930, aboard the cable ship Patrick Stewart; the question of liability for the cost of the visit; and the question of liability for expenses incurred by the Political Resident in the Persian Gulf in connection with the relief of refugees, and his mission to Ibn Saud.
Each part includes a divider which gives the subject and part numbers, the year the subject file was opened, the subject heading, and a list of correspondence references contained in that part by year. This is placed at the back of the correspondence.
