The file comprises telegrams, despatches, correspondence, memoranda, and notes, relating to the erection of a proposed memorial in Aden to Captain Stafford Bettesworth Haines, in the run-up to the hundredth anniversary of the British occupation of Aden.
The discussion in the volume contains printed copies of reports on the circumstances of Aden's capture and subsequent administration by the British, and the later trial of Haines on charges of inadequate accounting.
