- The papers in this file relate to the death of Lieutenant-Colonel Sir Trenchard Craven William Fowle (Political Resident in the Persian Gulf) and the actions taken by British officials to commemorate him. Many items are draft papers and include the original notice of death to be sent from the Secretary of State to the Government of India External Affairs Department (folio 20) and the condolence letter to be sent to Lady Fowle from Roland Tennyson Peel in the External Affairs Department (folio 11). Folios 2-9 include correspondence regarding the donation of Fowle's political uniform to 'any young officer' in the Indian Political Service.
