The file contains papers regarding the arrangements for auditing the Aden accounts once it becomes a Crown Colony, consisting of correspondence between the Aden Chief Commissioner, the India Office Political Department, and the Colonial Office. This includes discussion of the possibility of placing the Aden accounts under the Director of Colonial Audits, and of establishing a post of Local Audit Officer.
The file also includes correspondence between the Accountant General for the Government of India (William Robert Tennant), the Chairman of the Aden Settlement Fund (M C Sinclair), and the Government of India Foreign and Political Department, regarding the audit of the Aden Settlement Fund for 1934-35. This includes a copy of the Accountant General's report, and comments thereon by the Chairman.
This file includes a divider which gives a list of correspondence references contained in the volume by year. This is placed at the end of the correspondence (folio 1).
