The file contains correspondence between the Aden Governor (Bernard Reilly), the Aden Chief Secretary (Reginald Stuart Champion), the Colonial Office, and the India Office Political Department, regarding the request from Sultan Salih bin Ghalib Al Qu'ayti [Ṣāliḥ bin Ghālib Al Qu'ayṭī] that the title of Prince be bestowed on Husein bin 'Umar Al Qu'ayṭī. The correspondence concerns the Government position on the recognition of titles of Aden Protectorate rulers, and the possible ramifications of formally recognising the title in India.
