The file contains reports on the trade of Muscat for the years 1924-25 through to 1939-40, and for 1942-43. The reports were prepared by the Political Agent, Muscat, and consisted of a short prose introduction followed by tables of trade statistics. Some correspondence concerning the distribution and confidentiality of the report is contained within the file. Correspondents include the Foreign Secretary to the Government of India, India Office, Department of Overseas Trade, High Commissioner for India, and the Official Secretary to the Commonwealth of Australia.
The reports for the years 1940-41 and 1941-42 are not contained within the file and according to a manuscript note (folio 5) were never received at the India Office.
