Correspondence, minutes, and memoranda concerning the taxation of British subjects Muscat and Oman. The file contains copy of the Muscat Order in Council, 1915 (folios 46-59), and subsequent amendments in 1922 (folio 45-45A) and 1935 (folio 44).
The correspondence is between officials at the Political Residency in the Persian Gulf, Government of India (External Affairs Department), India Office, and Foreign Office, and includes minutes and memoranda on the questions of what taxes British subjects are currently liable for, whether this should be more formally regularised, and what effect the renewal of the treaty with the Sultan of Muscat may have on the tax situation.
