Correspondence, minute papers, and notes related to The Persian Coasts and Islands Order in Council, 1907. The papers concern the drafting and passing of amendments to the Order in Council and new regulations under the articles of the Order in Council, including 'Sessions Court Original Jurisdiction', 'Abadan Jurisdiction', and 'The Persian Coast and Islands (Amendment No. 2) Order in Council, 1922'. Questions of extending the jurisdictional limits of the Order in Council are considered, as well as applications for re-trial of some cases previously tried in Duzdap. Discussion of the application of a number or Government of India acts is also covered by the file.
The correspondence is mostly interdepartmental in nature, between the Foreign Office, India Office, and the Government of India (Foreign and Political Department). Communications from the Political Residency in the Persian Gulf, British Legation in Tehran, and the British Consulate in Sistan and Kain are also included.
