This file contains the following:
- correspondence and related documentation from 1939 concerning the travel arrangements of R S T John (British Vice-Consul in Bushire) around the Persian Gulf in order to complete research for a report on economic conditions in the region (folio 1-52)
- correspondence from 1933 regarding who should pay the costs involved in the collection of commercial intelligence during two trips made annually by the British Vice-Consul in Bushire (folios 53-100).
- correspondence from 1925 that discusses how commercial intelligence should be reported back from the Political Resident in Bushire to the Department of Overseas Trade and the division of responsibility between the Colonial Office and the Government of India (folios 101-126).
This correspondence is between officials from the Political Residency in Bushire, the Department of Overseas Trade, the Foreign Office, the Foreign & Political Department of the Government of India, the India Office and Downing Street.
The file includes a divider, which gives a list of correspondence references contained in the file by year. This is placed at the back of the correspondence.
