The file concerns negotiations involving the Iraq Petroleum Company (IPC), the Standard Oil Company of California, the Texas Corporation, and the Bahrain Petroleum Company (BAPCO) over the rights to exploit oil in Bahrain.
The file includes correspondence from the Political Resident in the Persian Gulf, and the Political Agent, Bahrain, and notes of meetings at the India Office.
The French language content of the papers consists of a French Government report on Bahrain oil, dated 1936 (folios 16-19).
