This file contains correspondence regarding broadcasts made by Radio Bari (the Italian Government's Arabic language radio station) and their reception in Bahrain and Kuwait. It also contains discussions concerning the proposed establishment of a British Government Arabic language radio service, based in Cyprus. Much of the earlier correspondence in the file relates to Soviet radio broadcasts in the Middle East. The correspondence is primarily between British Government officials in India, Britain and the Gulf, but also includes correspondence with BBC officials.
