The volume consists of published copies of correspondence between the Foreign Office, the India Office, the Government of India, the Admiralty, the Treasury, British administrative and diplomatic staff, foreign governments and their staff, and private companies and individuals. It was printed for use by the Foreign Office.
The volume contains the following publications:
- ‘Part IX. Further Correspondence Respecting the Affairs of Persia. January to March 1907.’ (ff 4-127)
- ‘Part X. Further Correspondence Respecting the Affairs of Persia. April to June 1907.’ (ff 128-269)
- ‘Part XI. Further Correspondence Respecting the Affairs of Persia. July to September 1907.’ (ff 270-502)
- ‘Part XII. Further Correspondence Respecting the Affairs of Persia. October to December 1907.’ (ff 503-726).
The correspondence primarily concerns events in Persia [Iran], with particular attention paid to: the negotiation of the Anglo-Russian Convention; the financial affairs of the Persian Government and the Shah of Persia; ongoing events of the Persian Constitutional Revolution including the proceedings of the National Consultative Assembly; the death of Mozaffar ad-Din Shah Qajar [Muẓaffar al-Dīn Shāh Qājār] and the accession to the throne of Mohammad Ali Shah Qajar [Muḥammad ‘Alī Shāh Qājār]; a rebellion against Mohammad Ali Shah Qajar led by his younger brother the Sālār al-Dawlah; the maintenance and development of the ‘Bakhtiari road’ between Isfahan and Ahwaz [Ahvaz] by the Persian Transport Company; attacks by Bakhtiari tribesmen on the D’Arcy Concession oil drilling site in south-western Persia; and British concerns about German, French, and Dutch commercial and political influence in Persia.
They also cover ongoing Turkish [Ottoman] military actions on the Persian border, the activities of British naval vessels and Arab ‘pirates’ in the Persian Gulf, and the movements of Russian soldiers and military supplies near the Persian border.
Material written in French is present throughout the volume. This material primarily consists of diplomatic correspondence between British, French, Russian, and Persian officials. A table of contents is included before each publication.

- Foliation: the foliation sequence (used for referencing) commences at the inside front cover with 1 and terminates at the inside back cover with 729; these numbers are written in pencil, are circled, and are located in the top right corner of the recto side of each folio.Pagination: the volume also contains multiple original printed pagination sequences.
- Arrangement:
- The papers are arranged in chronological order from the front to the rear of the volume. Each grouping of papers is assigned a consecutive number and most are followed by numbered enclosures. The volume is divided into four parts, each covering a three month period. At the beginning of each part there is a title page and a detailed table of contents which includes the name of the correspondent, the date of correspondence, a subject summary and the page number on which that entry can be found in the volume.
