- A volume on establishment matters commenced c 1834. The first part consists of: a) Short notes about individual members of the Company's home staff who were in service c 1820 and those appointed later up to 1858 (including staff at Haileybury, Addiscombe, Warley and Chatham, and the Company's agents abroad). For later volumes of a similar nature, see L/AG/30/17/1-3. b) An index to establishment matters which are referred to in the second part. The second part consists of lengthy abstracts from various sources concerning the staff and staffing of various Departments and posts, estimates of costs, lists of pensioners, etc. The authorities quoted go back to the early eighteenth century. Among the subjects covered a) Estimates of costs at East India House in each year 1834-1856 b) Committees of Court and appointments of Clerks to Committees 1834-1850 c) Standing orders relative to the Home Establishment 1709-1852 d) Rates of salary from 1815 e) Treatment of Company's cash and warrants 1708-1835 g) Bond debts 1820-1854 h) Transfers of stock 1709-1844
