1. 7 May, 1996. Fax from the Press Office, Spanish Embassy (24 Belgrave Square London) to Claire Walsh, listing ten Centros Penitenciaros (Madrid, Malaga, Lugo, Sevilla, Murcia Alava and Toledo). 2 sheets.

2. 7 May, 1996. Fax from Malcolm Edwards [Harper Collins] to Ballard, referring to his [editorial] notes on Cocaine Nights. 1 sheet (the editorial notes are not present).

3. 17 June, 1996. A letter (faxed) from Ballard to Malcolm Edwards referring to having already returned corrected proofs, and to sending (in this fax) 'a few more pages' which he hopes there is still time to include. These additional corrected pages are not present (a covering sheet, to 'Sharif', sent with the faxed letter to Edwards refers to 'these extra 11 pages of corrections'). The letter to Edwards also comments with approval on the proposed dust jacket design for the novel, but Ballard is a little 'bothered' by 'the line of cocaine that serves the role of the two "I's" in the title'. He comments that 'this labels the book HARD DRUGS, which it isn't really, though from the sales point of view that may be a good thing'. However, he is happy to leave the decision with Harper Collins. 2 sheets.
