- Title:
- A User's Guide to the Millennium: Working Text
- Scope & Content:
-
A compilation of the collected articles that comprised A User's Guide to the Millennium, in the form of photocopies of their original newspaper or magazine publication (and including, thereby, accompanying illustrative material that was not reproduced in the volume).
The articles have been revised and annotated by Ballard (with extraneous text struck-through) prior to being photocopied.
With occasional annotations in red ink in another hand (David Pringle?), noting the repetition of phrases from another review (see sheet 12), or noting Ballard's inconsistency in identifying 'the best s-f films' (see sheet 11).
The working text does not include the final article published in the volume, 'The End of My War' (Sunday Times, 1995).
