Digital copies of 11 photographs taken in and around Kordestan, Iran, c1880-1941.
The photographs consist of individual and group portraits, taken by a number of different photographers [unidentified]. The provenance, context and subjects of the photographs are not known to the owner, and so the information presented here is necessarily incomplete.
Further information may be gleaned from the Persian annotations which accompany some of the photographs. Some of the photograph subjects are wearing what appear to be costumes for performances such as Ta'ziyah.
The original prints measure 9 x 12cm, 13 x 18cm and 18 x 24cm.
