- Title:
- Super-Cannes: Editorial Correspondence
- Scope & Content:
-
1. A number of specific 'editorial queries' concerning stylistic matters, and consistency, sent to Ballard by fax (from Tim Waller, 7 March 2000). Ballard has responded by annotation against each. (9 sheets.)
2. By fax, 2 March, 2000, from Margaret Hanbury (literary agent), a copy of the publisher's blurb for Super-Cannes. With Ballard's response annotated: 'it's very good - use it all'. (1 sheet.)
3. 1 February 2000. Letter from Bernard Sigaud (French translator), having just read Super-Cannes: 'I found it funny, less sombre than Cocaine Nights'. Sigaud is uncertain whether he will translate it ('or even if Fayard will buy it'), and attaches 'my usual checklist of non-English words and names, should your printers be willing to make the effort'. (6 sheets.)
