Written by the scribe Gerasimos: colophon (Add MS 4951, f 171r) +Ὥσπερ ξένοι χαίρουσιν ἰδεῖν πατρίδα/ καὶ οἱ θαλαττεύοντες ἰδεῖν λιμένα,/οὕτως καὶ οἱ γράφοντες βιβλίου τέλος./Ὢ παντέφορε καὶ τριφεγγεὶς οὐσία/ εἰ τῷ κράτει σου τὸ πᾶν περιστυχοῦσα/ σκέπε φρούρει φύλαττε τῷ κτισαμένῳ/ πίστει καὶ πόθῳ σὺν τῷ γράψαντι,/ πανευκλεεῖ γραφέω μοναχῷ στε τάλα/νι τῷ Γερασίμῳ. Provenance:
Owned by César de Missy (1703-1775), Prussian critic and divine. De Missy was George III's French chaplain, and spent his life collecting materials for an edition of the New Testament.
