- The Greenhorn
- Scope & Content:
-
Unfinished play.
Comprises two parts:
A: Loose leaves with autograph notes for the first five scenes and the beginning of Act I Scene 1. Undated [although one leaf is inscribed 'A LINE' which suggests that this may be contemporaneous with Peake's idea for television 'Just a Line', circa 1955 - see Add MS 88931/5/2].
B: Autograph notebook with fragmentary notes and dialogue. Also includes notes for ‘Foot-Fruit’ and Titus Alone as well as a draft poem entitled ‘Line drawing sonnet’. Undated [but presumably from the late 1950s given the notes for Titus Alone and the short story ‘Footfruit’, which was inspired by a 1957 newspaper article].
