- This file contains letters to Lady Sophia Raffles from a variety of persons. There are several letters from members of the Bunsen family particularly regarding the family's plans to move to Germany. Included is a watercolour vignette from Frances von Bunsen showing their house and surrounding countryside. Along with correspondence from William Wilberforce there are several letters from Samuel Wilberforce, Bishop of Oxford, concerning the sorrow of losing family members. Some letters offer condolences on the death of Lady Sophia Raffles' brother and daughter, while another announces the safe arrival of a baby girl in the Bunsen family. There is also included a letter from Thomas Duer Broughton which acknowledges the receipt of Javanese and Malayan manuscripts.
