Labelled 'No 9' by Dodgson this diary contains entries dating from 13th September 1864 to 24th January 1868. In the diary Dodgson writes about his life in Oxford, his work at Christ Church Chollege and the publication of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. This includes references to meetings with his publisher, MacMillan and the illustrator of the volume, John Tenniel.
The front of the volume contains notes and dates for the different stages of publication of the novel and lists of people to whom Dodgson wished presentation copies to be sent.
