Photographs (and a signed woodcut print), as follows:
1. Phyllis Bottome:
- c 1925: mounted portrait, wearing pearl necklace, signature of 'Vaughan' to mount, stamped 'Vaughan & Freeman' verso photograph (black and white, dimensions excluding mount 160 x 100 mm);
- c 1940: three copies of a portrait of Bottome wearing black hat with veil (black and white, each 140 x 90 mm);
- c 1950: mounted portrait with folding cover, Bottome standing against a tree (black and white, dimensions excluding mount 235 x 180 mm);
- c 1955: Shelburne Studios New York, mounted portrait with folding cover, Bottome wearing fur stole (black and white, dimensions excluding mount 235 x 180 mm);
- c 1960: portrait (black and white, high key, 170 x 125 mm).
2. Alban Ernan Forbes Dennis:
- c 1955: Dennis with moustache, head resting on right hand, with 'Apeda NY' to bottom right corner (black and white, dimensions 250 x 200 mm);
- c 1955: Dennis without moustache, stamped 'Proof only / Associated News Photographic Service, New York City' (black and white, dimensions 250 x 180 mm).
3. Informal 'snapshots':
- Four black and white photographs (c 1955-60), two of which include Phyllis Bottome and Alban Ernan Forbes Dennis. Dimensions: 75 x 110 mm (three photographs) and 60 x 60 mm.
4. Joel McCrea and Margaret Sullivan
- Nine film stills, each 260 x 200mm. Each photograph has a reference number in white at the bottom. Some photographs a little faded.
5. Eleanor and Franklin Roosevelt:
- photographic portrait of Eleanor Roosevelt, standing by window, inscribed 'To Mr & Mrs Forbes Dennis / with good wishes / Eleanor Roosevelt' (black and white, 250 x 200 mm);
- photographic copy (sepia) of a painting of Franklin D Roosevelt, mounted, with original signature of Roosevelt to the mount (dimensions excluding mount 240 x 190 mm).
6. Woodcut print [1885] by Félix Vallotton (1865-1925), a portrait of Fyodor Dostoyevsky. With signature in pencil, and number '28' beneath signature. On the verso: 'Dr Alfred Adler' and further text in pencil. The print shows the marks of prior framing, and has a small tear at the left margin.
