- Paper. ff. 91. 310 x 205 (215 x 140) mm. 37 lines. Pen and ink portraits of the Apostles Peter and James facing a pen-decorated title-page (ff. 1v-2). Binding of brown calf with gilt- and blind-rolls by Chapman.
- Custodial History:
- Owned by John Covel, D.D. (his marginal annotations throughout MS; no MS No. and not listed in his catalogue of MSS in Add. 22911, ff. 180-181). Purchased from Covel for the Harleian Library, 27 Feb. 1715/6, as Covel's 'Nectarius in folio' (so called to distinguish it from his 'Nectarius in quarto', now Harley 5633), one of the MSS not listed in Covel's own catalogue (Heyworth HW p.339 (incorrectly identified as Harley 5633); Diary pp.xxxiv-xxxvi). Note by Humfrey Wanley relating to Ioannes Ionas: Πάπας τις ἐγκυμονήσας τίκτειν ἔμελλεν ὡς θύλει τοὔνομα δ' ὢν Ἰωάννης Ἰωάννα μετεκλήθη. καὶ γυνὴ σαφῶς γνωσθεῖσα τὸ παπίδιον θυλάζει (f. 91v).
