Material: Parchment.
Foliation: ff 237 (+ unfoliated modern paper flyleaves).
Dimensions: 405 x 265 mm.
Ruling: 305 x 165 mm. Leroy D 02D2a, 36 lines.
Binding: British Library, 1981. Misbinding of ff 1-20 noted in a (13th cent.?) Greek hand in the lower margin. ff 38-39 bound upside down. An older Arundel binding is kept separately as Arundel MS 542/1.
Decoration: Large foliate, geometric, or decorated headpieces in colours and gold with enclosed titles in red majuscules, and large coloured initials below at the beginning of texts (ff 1r, 16r, 29r, 37v, 55v, 72v, 81r, 94r, 103r, 111v, 117r, 124r, 135v, 143v, 148r, 153v, 169r, 181v, 191v, 200v, 212r, 223r, 237v). Simple headpiece with titles in red uncials, and large decorated initials in colour. Simple endpieces. Small initials in brown. Marginal drawing of a cross (f 223r).

Henry Howard (b. 1628, d. 1684), 6th duke of Norfolk, presented to the Royal Society in 1667.
The Royal Society, London (its ink stamp: 'Soc. Reg. Lond / ex dono HENR. HOWARD / Norfolciensis.', f 1r).
Purchased by the British Museum from the Royal Society together with 549 other Arundel manuscripts in 1831.
