Covenant whereby Hugh, son of Alan de Duckemanton, releases to William, the abbot, and to the convent of St James Welbeck, his claim in 6 bovates of land in Duckmanton, of which Richard, son of Hugh, and Thomas Gode held one bovate each, paying the said Hugh 16d. a year for the same, and of which Henry, son of Gode, held 2 bovates except a toft and a croft, and Robert Bate, 2 bovates; and a culture which extends from the way called Kyrkelane to the east and abutting on the culture of the said Hugh and upon Pirlewellesyke with the meadow called Pyrlewellesyke; and a toft lying between the toft of Roger, son of Richard, and the toft of John his brother; and one and half acres lying on Salecroft next to the land of the said Roger on his west; and 2 acres lying in Pytemannecroft; and one rood extending towards to west and abutting on the culture called Halleflat; and one rood with one headland abutting on Salecroft and the other on Blacstonaker; and one piece of meadow in Godwynesyke upon which the land of the said Hugh abuts; and all claim to a a toft and croft and garden lying between the toft and croft which Richard, son of Hugh, held, and the toft and croft which Henry, son of Gode, held, and in a culture called Salecroft which lies next to the land of the said Hugh on the east and abuts on the wagon-way leading towards Bolsover, which lands Alan, father of the said Hugh, once held; in exchange for 10 marks and one toft with a croft in Duckmanton which Henry, son of Gode, held and lying next to the toft which Alan, father of the said Hugh, held on the west.
