Lease, for 13 years from the Annunciation of Our Lady 1515, from Richard Gebbe and Isabel his wife to John Clarke of a close called Payn Croft, for which the said Richard and Gebbe warrant and bind themselves and their feoffees, namely Christopher Siddown and John Tayyeand, in the sum of £6, not to sell etc. the same; and the said close abuts at one end upon the Town field and the other on Scherwodd lane, the fourth side lying against Schawodd close which is held by Henry Fox, the other side lying against a parcel of ground which Thomas Schutt holds; and the said Richard and Isabel shall have part of the said Payn Croft from the dyke to the lane, which parcel abuts against Scherwod close held by the said Henry Fox on the one end, and on the other end against Thomas Schut 'foryerd'; and the said Richard and Isabel bind themselves to deliver the evidences to the said John Clarke. Endorsements: The condition of this indenture is that the said Richard and Isabel shall not 'sel nor set nor mynysthe' the the said ground on pain of £6, and the said John shall have 'ynfad and finthfad tyl hys owne grond to hyt most prophit levying the forsayd grond in last yers off the sayd xiij locy'.
