Whereas by a charter bearing date 26 November 38 Henry VIII John Bellowe and Robert Bygott, esquires, conveyed to Thomas Leeke of Beauchief, gentleman, jointly with William Wylde of Mansfield Sherwood, innholder, a cottage in Colley now or late in the tenure of Thomas Coke and a messuage and lands in Coldaston, now or late in the tenure of Roger Blythe, together with a messuage and lands in Wigley, now or late in the tenure of Richard Wylson and William Bowler, parcel of the monastery of Beauchief - now suppressed by the authority of Parliament - and also a field or close called Nonne Close alias Nonnefeld, and the house and buildings in Barowcote alias Borowcoote now or late in the tenure of John Pole and part of the priory of Kingsmead next Derby - also suppressed - now the said Thomas Leeke for divers consideration quitclaims and releases to the said William Wylde all his right in a moiety of the messuage in Wigley, and the field or close called Nonne field and the house in Barowcote within the lordship of Crich.
