Lease tripartide, for 40 years and for 10 marks, from William Blount, lord Mountjoy, to Robert Palmer of Doveridge, yeoman, of his capital messuage and lands in Boylestone, onetime in the tenure of John Schalcross [Shalcross]; covenant to repair by the said Robert, great timber excepting, which the said lord grants to the said Robert to find in his woods of Boylestone or park of Barton; and the said Robert grants that when the said lord shall be at his manor of Barton that he shall have all such services and customs 'as of old tyme' have belonged to the said messuage; and the said Robert shall not claim 'fyre bote' or common of esover in the woods of Boylestone, but only 'heggebout'; and the said Robert grants that he 'shall be in a redines sufficiently horsed & harnesed to do the kyng service at all such tyme as he shalbe therunto commanded by the seid lord', and that he shall be 'of good demeanour & dysposicion Agenst the seid lord'.
