Copy quadripartite of the will of Richard Spendlove regarding 8 and a half acres of land in Alcokfeld in le Fernelee in Heage and 26 acres in the fields of Heage called Waterlond - First, I will that my feoffees in the said lands in Alcokfeld after my death make sufficient estate in law to Ellen my wife for her life, on condition that she remains sole and without a husband, and if she does remarry then I will that my feoffees do not make such an estate, and thereafter the said Ellen should take 4 and a half acres in Alcokfeld as her dower and no more. And I will that the same Ellen immediately after my death shall have for life a reasonable dower in the aforesaid 26 acres called Waterlond without remaining sole. And if the same Ellen lives elsewhere after my death, then she is to devise at farm the said lands to John Spendlove, my son and heir. And of this quadripartite indenture, one part is to remain to me the said Richard, one to the said Ellen, one to the said John, and one to remain with my feoffees. Dated at Heage, co. Derby.
