Award by Richard Sutton and John Porte, esquires, in a dispute between Humfrey Stafford, esquire, and Ralph Martyn, late of Winster, respecting the right to one messuage, 2 bovates and one rood of land called Riley lying in the lordship of Eyam, co. Derby.The award is that the said Humfrey shall freely occupy the said messuage and lands in Riley, and that the said Ralph on this side of Easter next coming shall deliver to the said Humfrey the title deeds, and also after the feast of the Purification of Our Lady next coming make a Fine or sufficient estate in law to the said Humfrey in the said messuage and lands; for which the said Humfrey shall pay to the said Ralph £8.10s. by instalments over the next 2 years, at the altar of Our Lady in the parish church of Chesterfield between the hours of 9 and 12 before noon on the days set down.
