Award of arbitration of Sir John Stanley, Nicholas Fitzherbert, esquire, Thomas Poutrell and John Bradshawe, to settle a dispute between Nicholas Montgomere, of the one part, and Nicholas Agard of Sudbury and Isabel Montgomere, mother of the said Nicholas Montgomere, on the other part, concerning the manors of Sudbury and Aston, and lands in Mackley, Champion, 'Okkes' [Oaks Green], Potter Somersal, Waldley, Somersal Herbert and Snelston in the county of Derby, and Leigh in co. Staff., whereby the said Nicholas Agard and Isabel shall deliver to the said Nicholas Montgomere, her son, all evidences as they have in their keeping pertaining to the inheritance of the said Nicholas Montgomere before the feast of the Nativity of Our Lady next coming; that the said Isabel shall enjoy for life all such lands as abovementioned as a jointure as of Nicholas Montgomere esquire, her late husband; that the said Nicholas and Isabel shall grant an annuity of 10 marks a year out of the lordships of Marston Montgomery and Sudbury to the said Nicholas Montgomere; that where John Agard of Sudbury and Anne his wife, father and mother to the said Nicholas Agard, are seized of the manor of Sudbury and other lands there for life, the reversion belonging to the said Nicholas Montgomere, the said Nicholas Montgomere shall make an estate to the said Nicholas Agard to the value of 6 marks a year for his life; and that the said Nicholas Montgomere shall enjoy such 'gadis as he toke from the said Isabell his moder in allowance and recompence of all the heirelomes and of all other goodes that he demaunded of in the right of Nicholas Montgomere his fader'.
