Defeasance by John Leeke of Sutton-in-the-Dale, co. Derby, esquire, of a bond given by Thomas Saucheverell of Kirkby in Ashfield, co. Nott., gentleman, Edmond Lathom of Thoresby, gentleman, and Robert Alton of Mansfield in Sherwood, co. Nott., yeoman, witnessing that where the said Thomas by his deed indented bearing date the last day of September in the year aforesaid covenanted to deliver to the said John at Mansfield in Sherwood, before Christmas next ensuing, the deeds and evidences concerning lands and tenements in Aldwark, co. Derby, and the said Edmond and Robert were bound in an obligation of £40 for performance of the same, excepting that the said Thomas should retain certain deeds concerning the said lands in Aldwark, and other lands and in Ible and Greenfield, co. Derby, whereby John Saucheverell, late of Snitterton, esquire, granted the same lands to Henry Columbell, esquire and to his heirs, and also that the said Thomas should retain one part of a deed whereby the said Henry Columbell granted certain lands in Aldwark, Ible and Greenfield to the said John Saucheverell [Sacheverell] for life, remainder to William Saucheverell and his heirs, and in default to the right heirs of the said John Saucheverell.
