Extent of the lands of German Pole: In primis, the manor of Wakebridge and the demesne, 20 marks.Extent of the lands belonging to the said German Pole in Matlock, viz. in Herstones [Hearthstone, in Matlock], Heage, Tansley, Crich: Tenants, [John Babington, crossed out] German Pole, Edward Haslam, Robert Fogge, Christopher Burgen, George Statham, Ralph Buttyng, Christopher Henstocke, Ellen Spakmon, John Seyddown, John Wynter, James Wylcokson, Nicholas Yveley, James Hyll, Roger Redfourd, Hugh Jackson, Christopher Lee, Richard Holme and Robert Hall. [continuation on dorse]These pay chief rent: Richard Wyglye, William Madder, Thomas Alsoppe, Ralph Meytkake, Ranulf Mawnfourthe. Along the left hand side, reading left to right, is some earlier writing, with a list of names, including Miles Baldwyn, Ralph Porter, James Agard and James Vynton although it is not clear to what these refer, but perhaps old or new tenants.
