Inquisition post mortem taken at Derby before Christopher Poure, gentleman, escheator of the county of Derby, of Richard Cooke, on the oaths of Robert Glassop, Thomas Gregson, gentlemen, William Hicklinge, William Fowler, Richard Pomfret, Richard Tunth, John Warde, yeomen, John Manell, Christopher Bentley, John Richardson, gentlemen, John Ketilson, yeoman, John Orme, John Wright, Henry Lockoo, John Noton, William Columbell, Robert Breywood, Thomas Callengwood and Peter Calengwood, yeomen, who say the said Richard Cooke was seised of the manor of Trusley, which descended by law to Francis Cooke, as son and heir of the said Richard, and that the said manor was held of the Queen of her honor of Tutbury, parcel of the duchy of Lancaster for a knight's fee, and is valued at £13.6s.4d. a year; and lastly the jurors say that the said Richard died 15 [inserted in another hand] December last past ad that Francis Cooke his son and heir is aged 21 years and more and that the said Reginald held no other lands of the Queen in the said county.[Signed] C.
