Deed of Revocation by Henry Wigley of Middleton, co. Derby, gentleman, of the settlement of the rectory of Sheen, co. Staff., made to Adam Woolley of Riber, co. Derby, Ralph Wigley of Wirksworth, co. Derby, and William Walker of Riber, co. Derby, yeomen, and contained within a deed bearing date 30 October 37 Elizabeth, made for the 'fatherly love and affection which I did beare unto my children', and by which the said Henry enfeoffed the said Adam, Ralph and William with all his messuages and lands in Middleton and Wirksworth, and in Winster, Matlock and Cromford, co. Derby (all those messuages in Wirksworth conveyed for the use of Richard Wigley, one of the sons of the said Henry), and with the said rectory of Sheen, and also a messuage at Cromfordbridge end in the parish of Matlock, and 3 cottages, 2 of them lying at Willersley Lane head within the said parish and one at the said bridge end now in the several holdings of George Gregory, George Ogden and Margery Flynte, widow, to the use of the said Henry Wigley for life, and then, as to his lands in Middleton and Wirksworth, and in Winster, Matlock and Cromford, to the use of Thomas Wigley, his son and heir apparent, for life and then to the eldest son of the said Thomas, in remainder up to his tenth son, and in default of such issue to Richard Wigley, Anthony Wigley, John Wigley, Ralph Wigley, Edmund Wigley, Edward Wigley, Henry Wigley the younger, sons of the said Henry the father, remainder to his right heirs; and as to the messuage and cottages at Cromford Bridge end and Willersley Lane head, to the use of the said Henry the father for life and then to Ralph Wigley, one of his sons, remainder to Thomas, Richard, Ralph [sic], Edmund, Edward and Henry the younger; and as to the said rectory of Sheen, to the use of Henry the father for life, and then to Henry the son.
