Assignment, in trust, for the sum of 5s., by Immanuel Bourne, late of Ashover, co. Derby, but now of Aylestone, co. Leic., clerk, to Samuel Sleigh the elder, of North Edge in the parish of Ashover, co. Derby, gentleman, of the advowson of the church of Ashover for the residue of a term of 200 years; Reciting that where Sir Samuel Tryon of Halstead, co. Essex, knight and baronet, by his indenture dated 19 November, 22 James I, sell and assign to the said Immanuel the advowson and right of patronage of and to the rectory and parsonage of Ashover for the residue of a term of 200 years which commenced 2 June, 9 James I (1611); and Whereas Sir Thomas Reresby of Thrybergh, co. York, knight, by indenture dated 16 April,17 James I (1619) between himself and Sir Francis Wortly of Wortley, co. York, knight, and other feoffees did convey, amongst other things, the said advowson to the benefit of his younger children and in particular of his 2 daughters, Mary and Bridget, whereof the said Mary married Robert Stewart of Stuntney in the Isle of Ely and county of Cambridge, esquire, and the said Bridget married Isaac Scott of Danby, co. York, esquire, the benefit of which lease of 2000 years after the said lease of 200 years made by the said Sir Samuel Tryon to the said Immanuel Bourne was by decree of the High Court of Chancery decreed to the said Robert Stewart and Isaac Scot [for term] of their lives; and Whereas the said Robert and Isaac by their indentures dated 22 April 1630 between them of the one part and Elisha Bourne of Alfreton, co. Derby, clerk, brother of the said Immanuel Bourne on the other part, conveyed, amongst other things, the aforesaid advowson for the remainder of the term of 2000 years, the said indenture and purchase was made only by the said Immanuel Bourne who paid the said money, the name of his brother Elisha Bourne being made in trust for the said Immanuel, the said Immanuel having bought the former lease of 200 years of Sir Samuel Tryon in his own name; and that after the death of the said Immanuel Bourne, the presentation shall lie with such person or persons as he shall declare in his last will and testament.
