Bond, in £22.8s.4d., from John Fentham of Brampton, co. Derby, husbandman, to Godfrey Stephenson of Brampton, co. Derby, yeoman, for the payment of £11.4s.2d. at or in the parish church of Brampton, at Michaelmas 1590 between the hours of 10 in the forenoon and 2 in the afternoon, secured by a mortgage of a close of land in Brampton called Southhill lying between the lands of George [Talbot], earl of Shrewsbury, now in the occupation of William Cavendish esquire on the north, and the lands of Nicholas Clarke, gentleman, on the south, being in the occupation of the said John Fentham and late the inheritance of John Ashe of Brampton, yeoman.
