Grant by Thomas Fyncham, gentleman, to Edmund Jakeson, John Wenham and William Brereton, clerks, Richard Edon and John Puregold, gentlemen, James Jakeson, chaplain and Oliver Jakeson, of one messuage in Cambridge in the parish of All Saints lying between the messuage of the vicar of the parish church of All Saints on the one part, and the messuage late Henry Grymbold on the other part, and which abutts on one headland on the king's highway and on the other headland onto the messuage late John Croft, which messuage the said grantor, together with Richard Sokeburn and John Radclyff, clerks, John Hesewell, Richard Holmes, Thomas Pomell, Henry Kale and John Adam, burgesses of the town of Cambridge, now deceased, had by the grant of John Wyghton [Wighton], John Hundreder and Richard Ade as contained in a deed dated at Cambridge 21 September 8 Henry VII, to hold to the use of the said Edmund Jakeson, paying yearly to the Master and Scholars of Jesus College, Cambridge, 12d.

Endorsements: Full and peaceful possession and seisin according to the form within-written was given and delivered, in the presence of : Reginald Richardson, Thomas Say, Alan Caldree, John Burgage, John Wylson, and me John Thirleby, 'scriptoris', the day and year within-written. Memorandum [now crossed through] by Thomas Fyncham to Master Edmund Jakeson that he has received 20 marks of the £20 for which the tenement was sold, which tenement is 'of oon bildyng oon framyuth and of oon and undre oon roffyng' with the tenement that the said Thomas Fyncham now occupies. and was late Henry Grymbolds, and moreover that the said 2 tenements are charged with the yearly rent of 2s. to be paid to the Master and Fellows of the College, and the said Thomas Fyncham promises that the said Master Jakeson shall have 'the preferment of the lyving' of the said tenement, giving thereof 'as any man wylle' to the widow of the said Herry Grymbold £18 in ready money of £6.12s.4d. in full payment of the sum of £20.
