Wolley Ch xii.25

Sale, for £184, by John Greaves the younger, of Woodhouse, co. Derby, gentleman, to John Greaves the elder, of Beeley, co. Derby, gentleman, father of the said John the younger, and Charles Greaves, son of the said John the elder, of Beeley aforesaid, yeoman, of a messuage or tenement lying in Edensor, co. Derby, and now in the tenure of John Marple, and 4 cottages in Edensor, now or late in the several tenures of John Moton, William Moton, John Denton and John Coweley, and all other the lands in Edensor lately purchased by the said John Greaves the younger of the said John Marple and of John Smith, yeomen, or of Richard Marple of the Inner Temple, London, gentleman (one lease made by the said John the younger to the said John Marple of the above messuage and lands now in the occupation of the said John Marple for the term of 60 years, if he happens to live that long, for the rent set down in the said lease, and the third part of the said messuage and lands, from and after the death of the said John Marple, to Mary Marple, his now wife, for her jointure for life, she paying an annual rent of 3s.4d., excepted); and the said John for himself and Dorothy his now wife covenant that during the next 4 years, upon reasonable request by the said John the elder and Charles, to procure any necessary deed for the sure making of the said sale.
