Release from John Greaves of Cowley Hall in the parish of Darley, co. Derby, gentleman, to George Savile of Beeley, co. Derby, gentleman, of the manor or lordship of Beeley, co. Derby, and the capital messuage in Beeley which John Culvert now inhabits, and also the messuage called The Greaves now or late in the possession of John Bulloke, gentleman, and also all those several closes called the Paddocke, the Aspe, the Mawking Greave, the Shaw Meadow, the Hall Flatt, the How Way, now or late in the occupation of the said John Culvert; all those several closes in Beeley called the Old Halfe Acre, the New close, the White Acre Bothom and the Long Land Head, now or late in the occupation of the said John Bulloke; that one land in Farmeside Field and all those Two Dayes Mathes in the Mean Meadows and Four Lands in the upper field, likewise in the occupation of the said John Bulloke; several closes called the Shorte Hedge, the Blacke Brooke, Beeley Willowes and Beeley Wood now or late in the occupation of George Ashborne, and one half of the Overwood and 7 cow gates in the Hall Croftes likewise in the occupation of the same George; and all that cottage and several closes lying in Beeley called the Wayne Book, the Mag Field, the Hockley, the Hoge Croft and the Higgett Fields, now or late in the several occupations of the same George, Francis Hill, clerk, Robert Willson, John Mawking, [blank] Taylor, widow, and Henry Wall, now in the actual possesesion of the said George Savile by virtue of a sale made to him for 3 months for transferring of uses into possession, which Release was made in compliance with a decree made in Chancery at Westminster on 27 November last, in a cause between Samuel Trickett and Anne his wife and others, complainants, and the said George Savile, John Greaves and others, defendants, that, amongst other things, the defendants should pay to the said John Greaves 10 guineas, and should also, on 12 May next coming pay to the said John £300, who at the costs of the defendants should release all his interest in the premises called Beeley in the parish of Bakewell to the defendants, the Saviles.
