Will of Agnes Fearne (d. by 1575), widow, of Wirksworth in Derbyshire. Among bequests to family and executors, she leaves her house and all her other houses, gardens, land and tenements in Wirksworth establish a free school and a bedehouse in the town; dated to 14 July 1574. Her sister’s stepson and one of her executors, Anthony Gell, founded the school and bedehouse in 1576.
Endorsed: in a 17th-century hand, ‘Warksworth / Agnes Fern / her will’; in a different 17th century hand, ‘The will / of Agnes Fferne of Wirkswo[rth]’.
